Steve Winwood is probably most famous for his blue-eyed soul phase of the 1980s, which included the No. 1 Billboard charting Higher Love featuring Chaka Khan. Yet this commercial peak is only one side of Winwood, a British music legend whose career has stretched over some 50 years. He first emerged in the 1960s with The Spencer Davis Group, co-writing some of their biggest hits including I'm a Man and Gimme Some Lovin'. He later co-founded one of rock's first supergroups in Blind Faith and has been inducted into The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame as a member of jazz-rock pioneers Traffic.
Previously Winwood has supported some big name stars, including sharing the limelight with Rod Stewart on his Life the Life Tour! Now he's heading out on his own. Given the variety of genre and styles he's mastered over the years, seeing Steve Winwood live is like attending four different concerts on the same night.
