A funny ode to the sport from the author of Tuesdays with Morrie

Why See Hockey - The Musical!?

Following its premiere in Detroit, Mitch Albom's Hockey - The Musical takes its game across North America on this national tour. Described by its author as "Spamalot - with hockey sticks", this laugh-a-minute musical is a loving ode to the sport, featuring both old pop songs alongside original numbers, such as 'When You're A Wing', 'God is a Canuck' and 'Kill Baseball'. The story follows a band of five brave hockey fans who must convince God not to get rid of their sport, after he's decided the world has become over saturated.

Best known as for writing Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom is also an award-winning sports journalist, and of course a die-hard hockey fan, so this show really is written from a place of love. Hockey - The Musical is directed by Peter Albom, and skates into The City Theatre in Detroit, MI, Closed August 6, 2017.
