Hello, Dolly!

Why see Hello, Dolly!?

Hello, Dolly! heads out on tour

The darling of Broadway has returned! After a successful revival on Broadway, this glorious new production of Hello, Dolly! is heading out on a national tour!

With four 2017 Tony Awards under its belt, including Best Revival and Best Actress for Bette Midler, Jerry Herman's musical comedy is truly back where it belongs. Featuring memorable classics such as 'Before the Parade Passes By' and 'Put on Your Sunday Clothes' Hello, Dolly! is ready to reclaim the hearts of the American people.

Based on Thornton Wilder's play The Matchmaker Hello, Dolly! was an instant success when it first debuted in 1964. Winning an unprecedented 10 Tonys at that year's ceremony it was soon adapted for the big screen featuring a cast led by Barbra Streisand and a young Michael Crawford. This 2017 revival is directed by four times Tony winner Jerry Zaks (Sister Act) whose talent has brought Hello, Dolly! back into the limelight.

What's Hello, Dolly! about?

In 1880s New York a rich and cantankerous widower by the name of Horace Vandergelder is on the lookout for a wife. To help him on his quest he engages the services of professional matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi, but little does he know that Dolly has his perfect match in mind from their very first meeting - herself! Now all she has to do is make Horace realize it as well...

An Awesome Musical in the Biggest Little City!

I had the privilege of seeing Hello Dolly! at the St. James Theater on Broadway in 1970 when Ethel Merman played Dolly Levi. But what I saw last evening at the Pioneer Center surpassed that production! Sally Struthers played the part to perfection. She brought out facets of the character I had never appreciated before, and the way she related to the audience when delivering her lines, humorously acting with perfect timing, and singing in all ranges, left an impact. The supporting cast was pure gold, along with fantastic sets, beautiful costumes, and outstanding lighting. The chorus singing and orchestra sizzled as it brought Jerry Herman's great score to life along with some new variations. This show proves that you don't have to work in vulgarity and a sleazy story line to entertain. If you missed Hello Dolly! you missed a great show! ... Read more

Hello Dolly 2/11/2020

This is a wonderful production! The cast is top notch, as are the costumes, live orchestra, lighting, and choreography. It is a treat for all senses! Carolee Carmello is fabulous as Dolly, she grabs hold of the audience from the very first scene. The dancers are marvels of athleticism and enthusiasm. If you have a kid in competitive dancing who is interested at all in getting into the theater, this is a MUST see. I have season tickets to the Fox Broadway series, this show made it into my top 5 favorites. Thanks for a delightfully entertaining evening! ... Read more

HELLO, DOLLY! with Miss BETTY BUCKLEY

Over the moon and into a galaxy far, far away. Light all the candles and pull out the biggest red carpet. This is a major star-affirming production with dancing and acrobatics and color like you've never seen. This wonderful show might well eclipse even the fabled original. Run, do not walk, and buy the best ticket you can. This is the one you will be telling your grandchildren about. ... Read more
