Angels and Airwaves

Angels and Airwaves at The Fillmore

Why see Angels and Airwaves?

Rebel boys out on tour

Tom Delonge's post Blink 182 project Angels & Airwaves are back on the road and they're bringing their five studio albums with them. Expect to hear some of your favorite tracks alongside new material as their sixth studio album is set to release later this year! That means you could be one of the first to experience the new material live. It's going to be an experience like no other when they come to a town near you.

Formed during Blink's hiatus period back in 2005, Angels & Airwaves (AVA) have enjoyed popular success since the release of their first album We Don't Need To Whisper. Now over 15 years later and despite numerous personnel changes (today's line up include Delonge, David Kennedy, and Ilan Rubin and Matt Rubano) it looks if the band are as strong as ever as they head into this exciting new era.

Angels and Airwaves at the Fillmore

I'm a fairly new AVA fan. Unlike almost everyone at the show I never really got into Blink. Also probably one of the older fans in the crowd at 54. My teen years were in the 80's. I was mostly into progressive rock/metal bands like Yes, Kansas, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater. I was also influenced by some of the punk/new wave music and got into U2, The Police, Missing Persons etc. To me AVA is unique in that they often strive for the big sound that I appreciate and also have some punk influences mixed in. It's the fusion of those two elements that really make the band special to me. With as many super technical bands that I've seen I was admittedly a bit apprehensive about how Tom's vocals would come across to me in a live venue. He's obviously not a great technical singer but the attitude just makes everything work. Overall big sound that is still a bit raw and not pretentious in the least bit. Been to over 100 concerts in my life and this is right up there for sure. ... Read more
